BIOS:

Kid Lucky is a beatboxer/songwriter. Since 1996, he has been considered one of the most cuttting edge beatboxers in the world. He moved to Prague for two years and there he developed a vocal style he calls BEATRHYMING - beatboxing and rhyme flow at the same time. His musical style blends hip hop, floetry, and avant garde jazz. Lyrics are thought provoking and sometimes controversial, while the rhythms are deep and memorable. His entertaining, thought provoking performance highlights why Kid Lucky is one of the best mixed vocal artists in the world.

Jane LeCroy is a poet and performance artist, home-birthing mother of three, teacher, atheist, vegetarian, hedonist, who fronts the avant-pop band Transmitting with Tom Abbs.  Jane has performed as part of SanFrancisco’s women poetry troupe Sister Spit and Kid Lucky’s spoken-word, beatboxing orchestra, Nu Voices.  Jane’s latest book of poetry, “Names” was published by Booklyn and purchased by the Library of Congress, along with her braid!  Jane is a teaching artist working in New York schools. Check out her many books and recordings at www.janelecroy.com where you can request to be put on her e-list and receive free poems hot off her brain with every show invite.

Joel McKerrow is a performance poet, writer, educator, youth worker, thinker and activist based out of Melbourne, Australia. He is the Co-founder and Co-director of ‘The Centre for Poetics and Justice’ (www.cpj.org.au), a not-for-profit, community arts organisation focused on using poetics as a form of literary education, self-expression and social engagement for marginalised teenagers. He was a feature poet on the National Global Poetics 2011 tour of Australia, a feature poet on the "Please Resist Me" 2012 tour of Australia, and on the 2012 international "Soles of Australia tour" throughout Canada. His words can also be found on the pages of his first book release, "Beyond Rhetoric – Writings in the Tradition of Kahlil Gibran" and in his debut spoken word album "One Foot in the Clay."
